Speech Language Therapy
OSF Saint James speech/language pathologists are
certified and licensed with master's degrees in speech pathology, and
offer individual and group therapy for children and adults.
Our speech/language pathologists teach people
coping strategies, and provide treatment to eliminate or minimize

Talk naturally to your child...don't baby

Beginining at birth, take time to listen and
talk to your child
Accept some speech mistakes as your child
learns...don't ask your child to slow down and repeat |
Be patient and give the person your full
attention
Ask short questions that can be answered
simply
Rephrase your statements and questions, and
use gestures and facial expressions to clarify your meaning |
