Physical Therapy

The licensed Physical Therapy (PT) staff of OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center
evaluates and treats patients with musculoskeletal and neurological
injuries, pain or deficits as a result of trauma or disease, as well as
children with developmental delays. PTs create a rehabilitation plan
that educates the patient and focuses on rehabilitation of the patient's
deficits. Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) treat patients
under the supervision of a Physical Therapist using the treatment plan
created by the PT. Treatments include therapeutic exercises,
pain-reducing modalities and exercises to retrain activities of daily
living. All clients must have a physician's referral to be treated by
the PT staff.
