OSF Saint James' SportsHealth professionals (certified athletic trainers, physical therapists and occupational therapists) work closely with primary care physicians, OSF Medical Group orthopedic & spine surgeons Brian Sipe and Travis Richardson, physician assistant Rick Saylor, and nurse practitioner Amy Hepner, to provide the complete spectrum of sports injury assessment, treatment and advice --- all under one roof.

OSF Sports Health | Running TrackAs a part of your school team or athletic program, Athletic Trainers from OSF Saint James SportsHealth Services use their education and training relating to BIOMECHANICS, EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY, ANATOMY and PHYSIOLOGY for the prevention, recognition, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

The Athletic Trainers work closely with student athletes, coaches, and physicians to develop and implement a comprehensive rehabilitation program for each injured athlete.

OSF Saint James SportsHealth also offers a FREE walk-in clinic in the rehabilitation department of the medical center from 7-8 a.m. Monday - Friday for athletes recovering from an injury or experiencing soreness. Staffed by our Athletic Trainers, athletes can have their injuries assessed or receive hot packs, ultrasound, electronic stimulation treatments, joint mobilizations, various stretching techniques, functional testing, proprioception training, and much more. Appointments are not necessary, but are available.
