OSF Saint James speech/language pathologists are certified and licensed with master's degrees in speech pathology, and offer individual and group therapy for children and adults.
Our speech/language pathologists teach people coping strategies, and provide treatment to eliminate or minimize speech, language and related problems associated with:

| Talk naturally to your child; don't baby-talk. |
Be patient and give the person your full attention. |
| Beginning at birth, take time to listen and talk to your child. |
Ask short questions that can be answered simply. |
| Accept some speech mistakes as your child learns; don't ask your child to slow down and repeat. | Rephrase your statements and questions, and use gestures and facial expressions to clarify your meaning |
